Cub Pack Holiday – reminder

Just a quick reminder that if you have not returned the forms Ardnabannon pack holiday please bring them with you, tomorrow. If you do not have a form or can’t find it, please let Ian know (0773 946 7744) and we will bring some up with us. We don’t want any Cub to miss out this weekend.

If your Cub has asthma, please ensure they bring their inhalers along. One of the leaders can look after them if necessary.

Please remember to be at West Church for 5.45pm!

Parents Night

Parents Night will be on the 25th May 2012, all are welcome to join the Cubs at the final night for the year.

Back for a last run to Camp

We are back on Friday night 20th April. There are not too many nights left till camp and the final night AGM.

Please remember to bring in your Sponsored walk money. We are still collecting Sainburys vouchers.

Easter Break

Cubs will be off for Easter on Friday 6th and 13th. We will be back on the 20th at 6:45. Hope you all have a good break.

On Sunday 22nd will be the St George’s Day Parade. More information to follow.

Night walk

We will be meeting on Friday the 30^th March 2012 at the McKee Clock, Bangor Marina at 6:30pm for our annual night walk. Please collect your children from Crawfordsburn Scout centre at 9:00pm. Please can all Cubs bring a waterproof coat, a torch, a drink and a small snack for the walk.

Cool to be a Cub event, Cultra Titanica Adventure 19th May 2012. Meet Bear Grylls, mini Olympics and other events. £15 per cub. Starting at 9:30 – ending round 5 pm. Please let me know if your cub would like to attend.

Upcoming Events

This Friday the 9^th Dec 2011 will be the last Cub meeting for the year. We will be having our Christmas party, so uniforms do not need to be worn. On Sunday 11^th December 2011 we will be hosting the district Scout carol service. We would like to encourage as many Cubs to attend as possible and extend the invitation to parents, family and friends. It will start at 3pm and run for approximately an hour. Some of the Cubs will be doing readings at the service. Tea and coffee will be provided at the end of the services.

We will be kicking off the new year on the 6^th January 2012.

Cub’s investiture 2011

You are invited to the new Cub’s investiture on Friday 25th November 2011. This will be take place during the last 15 minutes of Cubs. Please arrive shortly before 8pm in order to be seated for the beginning of the ceremony.

Ardnabannon Pack weekend

Arrangements are well underway for the ever popular Cub weekend away. We have secured the date of the 11^th to the 13^th May 2012 at Ardnabannon Outdoor Education Centre near Castlewellan. This is an exciting opportunity for our cubs to take part in a variety of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, archery and bouldering, all led by the staff at Ardnabannon. All activities will be weather permitting with an emphasis on safety above all else. The total cost of the weekend will be £45 per child which will cover accommodation, meals and activities.

In order to secure your child’s place on the camp we are asking for a deposit of £10 to be paid by the end of November 2011. The balance must be paid by the end of March
2012. Although this date seems quite far off, we felt it would be helpful for parents to get this information as far in advance as possible in order to budget for this event.
